What is Fågg Solfilm?

Modern office building with glass facade, surrounded by small trees and sunshine

Fågg Solfilm is a professional window film for commercial buildings and office environments that reduces heat gain, glare and UV radiation. The solar film is installed directly on existing glass surfaces and provides a more comfortable indoor climate without blocking daylight or views.

Fågg uses quality films from LLumar – one of the world's leading manufacturers of solar film and window film. The solutions are available in several variants with different degrees of sun protection, reflection and expression adapted to different buildings and needs.

Unlike external solar shading, solar film does not require major interventions in the facade or replacement of existing windows. For buildings where external solutions are not possible, desirable or aesthetically pleasing, solar film can be a discreet and very cost-effective way to achieve similar functionality.

Large glass surfaces provide plenty of daylight and open spaces, but can also lead to significant heat build-up, glare and uneven indoor climate throughout the day. Fågg Solfilm reduces heat gain and reflects large parts of the solar energy before it enters the room, which provides a more comfortable working environment and less strain on cooling systems.

Fågg uses solar film from LLumar – the only solar film manufacturer in the world that has CE marking on its entire product range in addition to a “Declaration of Performance” (DoP). This documents that the products meet the requirements of EU regulations and provides confidence in quality, functionality, safety and environmental impact.

Frequently asked questions

  • Solar film is installed directly on existing glass surfaces and reduces the amount of solar energy that enters through the windows. The film reflects and absorbs some of the heat and UV radiation before it enters the room.

  • No, modern solar film is designed to reduce heat and glare while maintaining daylight and views. Different film types provide different levels of light transmission.

  • Yes, Fågg Solfilm blocks a large portion of the UV radiation that comes through the glass. This can help reduce fading of furniture, floors, curtains and other interior items.

  • Yes, solar film reduces glare from direct sunlight and makes it more comfortable to use screens in office and meeting room environments.

  • No, the solar film is installed directly on existing glass surfaces and normally does not require any window replacement.
